I decided that this post will not feature too much information on Disney World but a quick synopsis of our time here. If you are interested, several sites can provide more information on Disney World itself. The goal of this post is to get you up to date on a few of our experiences over the past two weeks in order to prepare you for getting back into the flow of receiving daily updates again.
Just minutes after an emotional goodbye at the airport with my brother, I came back to the hotel and sat on the laptop screen. As you may have already guessed, the screen no longer works, so I am considering my options. I was going to post an update or two tonight but it doesn't look like that will happen.
Unfortunately, I don’t have much to share with you today. After a lot of spirited discussion, Jasmine and I decided to drive the 690 miles all the way to Orlando from New Orleans. This was also our first four state day as we started in Louisiana and drove through Mississippi and Alabama on our way to Florida.
When we decided to go to New Orleans, I put a couple of must do things on the itinerary. The first was to go to the French Quarter, the second to eat at Mother’s and the third to have coffee and beignets (French doughnuts topped with powdered sugar) at Café du Monde.
I have always wanted to go to New Orleans, so when I awoke this morning, I did it with a little excitement, knowing that in a few hours I would be in the Big Easy. The only place we wanted to visit in Houston was the children’s museum. Unfortunately for us, the only day it isn’t open is Monday and guess what…… yes, that’s right it is Monday. With that unfortunate news, we decided to head straight to New Orleans after eating a bit of lunch in Houston. To be honest we just didn’t love the feel of Houston.
We woke up this morning with a slight roller coaster hangover but all together feeling pretty good. Jasmine and I didn’t really want to do to much walking today so we planned a light itinerary. Our first and only stop in Dallas was going to be downtown.
I consider myself a roller coaster lover (not quite to the level of an enthusiast), so on this trip across the United States I want to experience as many theme parks as I can. Six Flags has a great season pass program this year, allowing us to see all of their parks with the same pass. We plan to see as many as possible.
