Chase has been generous in recent months, with several offers to earn extra rewards for purchases. Now the credit card issuer is targeting some customers with an offer to get 5X on select categories. This offer could net you up to $100 in cash, or 10,000 Ultimate Rewards points, depending on which of your cards is targeted. Let’s see the details.

Activate this offer and get a total of 5% back or 5x points on up to $2,000 in combined purchases made with your card from Nov. 1, 2020, through Dec. 31, 2020, in select categories:

Key Terms
- To be eligible for this offer, you must activate by 12/31/20, 11:59 p.m. E.T.
- For a purchase to qualify for this offer, the merchant must submit charges to your credit card by the last day of the promotional period 12/31/20. All of your eligible purchases during the promotional period will be automatically counted, as long as you have enrolled by 12/31/20.
- Please allow up to 8 weeks after qualifying purchases post to your account for 5% Back to post to your account. To be eligible for this offer, your account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment.
- Rewards Categories: Internet, Cable, and Phone Services category merchants provide internet, cable, satellite television, radio, cellular, wireless data, and landline services.
- In addition, if you purchase or pay for your internet, cable and satellite television, phone or related services in a merchant’s store that is not registered by the merchant in the applicable services category, the purchase or payment will not qualify; for example, phone bill payments in a merchant’s store that register to Chase as a telephone equipment store.
- Utility category merchants provide electric, household fuel, water, and sanitation. Please note that purchases of equipment and some merchants that sell utility-related goods and services are not included; for example, electronics or other retail stores and merchants offering maintenance and cleaning services.
- Insurance category merchants provide health, automobile, homeowners, medical, and life insurance.
- This promotional offer is non-transferable and applies only to the account ending in the last 4 digits referenced in this offer.
Conclusion
This is good offer for those who receive the email from Chase. Insurance should be an easy way to maximize this offer, if you have a big payment coming up, or if you can prepay it. I checked all my chase cards. I received one offer on my chase southwest card for a grocery bonus up to $1500 per month for November and December. Not bad.

Thank you for letting us know. However, after hitting the “check here” and inserting a Chase cc, I was routed to their previous bonus for Amazon/Grocery. Not sure about this routing.
DonDover, me too. I checked a bunch of cards and all were either not eligible for an offer, or were eligible for the Amazon/Grocery offer.
I’d love to get the utility offer – I was targeted on a couple of different cards for a similar offer in the last 15 months or so and managed to max it out both times.
