Chase Sapphire Lounge Coming to Miami Airport

It looks like Chase is preparing to add another Sapphire Lounge location, this time at Miami International Airport (MIA).

According to documents filed with Miami-Dade County and first highlighted by One Mile at a Time, a new 13,793-square-foot Chase Sapphire Lounge is planned for Concourse E, above Gate E7. The proposed lounge would operate under a 15-year agreement that could generate nearly $94 million in revenue for the airport.

Miami would join a growing list of Sapphire Lounge locations that already includes New York-JFK, LaGuardia, Boston, Washington-Dulles, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego and Las Vegas. Additional lounges are also planned for Dallas-Fort Worth and Los Angeles.

The new lounge would be a welcome addition for travelers passing through Miami, especially given the airport’s growing premium lounge footprint. Miami is already home to an Amex Centurion Lounge, multiple Admirals Clubs, a Flagship Lounge, Delta Sky Club and several international airline lounges.

As with other Sapphire Lounges, access would likely be available to Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders, Sapphire Reserve for Business cardholders, J.P. Morgan Reserve cardholders and Ritz-Carlton cardholders, along with one annual visit for other eligible Priority Pass members.

The lounge is still likely several years away from opening, but it’s another sign that Chase is continuing to invest heavily in airport lounges as it competes with American Express and Capital One for premium travelers.
