Hyatt Early Award Access for Elites and Cardholders
Hyatt is now letting Globalists, Lifetime Globalists, Explorists, and World of Hyatt personal and business credit cardholders book award stays up to 13 months before check-in. This “new” benefit went live this month, rewarding Hyatt’s most loyal members with earlier access to award inventory at popular properties.
World of Hyatt terms now state that the following members will receive exclusive advance booking access for Free Night Awards and Points + Cash reservations:
- Explorists
- Globalists
- Lifetime Globalists
- Primary cardholders of a Hyatt credit card (regardless of status)
But you’re right to think that this benefit sounds a bit familiar. Hyatt members could always book award stays about 13 months in advance, even if the online calendar only displayed 12 months of availability. You could just do this by searching specific dates instead of using on the calendar view.
So this isn’t really a brand-new benefit. Instead, Hyatt is making elites and cardholders feel special by taking this ability away from Discoverist and basic members.
Being able to book properties an extra month in advance should be useful when it comes to those hard-to-get properties. Award space at high-demand resorts, luxury properties, and peak travel periods could sometimes disappear as soon as it’s released.
