Meijer’s Mperks program has a new gift card sale. The sale runs until September 29, 2018. The offer is for $5 off your next visit when you buy a $50 gift card. There are some exclusions but most 3rd party gift cards are included.

The $5 rebate will be added to your account for your next shopping trip. The credit will not work on gift cards but it will work on pretty much everything else in the store. Just be careful when using this offer, make sure you actually use the credits!
Maximizing the Offer
Best Buy gift cards are probably the best option. You can resell them for up to 90%, depending on your reselling relationship.
Use any card that earns a grocery bonus when paying, the American Express Blue Cash Preferred or American Express Everyday Preferred are probably the best credit card options.
But the best option would be if you have some discounted Meijer gift cards lying around from previous eBay deals. Remember that Meijer gift cards are some of the best on the market!
Conclusion
This is a pretty solid offer that can be profitable for some or great for personal use, like Target gift cards. After buying $500 in gift cards you should have $50 in credit on your account to use in store on a future visit. It usually takes 30 minutes or so to be added to your MPerks account.
In the past I have been able to buy larger gift cards and get the full amount of the credit applied. I would get $25 in credit for a $250 gift card etc.

I just tried to use Meijer gift cards to purchase a Best Buy gift card and the computer was coded to not allow me to do that. Anyone else see this in their Myer stores?
Used a Meijer gc Monday for a HD card without a problem.
Hmm… I did buy the Best Buy gift card with root beer (I was thirsty :)) and wonder if that messed things up. Only let me pay for the root beer with the gift card and I had to get a cashier to help me (I was in self check out). Tomorrow I will try just purchasing the Best Buy gift card.

It did not help. Went through self checkout and register was hard coded to not accept a meijer gift card to purchase Best Buy gift cards.
Sounds like this is getting rolled out to all stores in the next few weeks and will be hard coded everywhere 🙁

Was just thinking I didn’t get the three little activation receipts. I’m guessing the cashier did something wrong. Meijer is usually helpful, so hoping no issues.
Just bought $500 in Delta cards last night. Came home and tried to use toward an airfare purchase. None of them are activated, because Delta shows zero balance on the three I tried. Back to the store I go after work tonight. I have NEVER had an issue with Meijer and gift cards before, but this is very disheartening. I am so glad I tried to use these immediately versus waiting, which I have done in the past!
Oh, but the mPerks rewards did post immediately, so at least there is that.
Yeah that is strange. Did you get the 3 little receipts that show they activated properly when checking out too? Let us know what Meijer says.
