A busy Friday in Vegas. The big one is Caesars, where the July 11th go shop deadline hits tomorrow and there are rumblings Carl Icahn could swoop in with a competing bid against Tillman Fertitta, possibly at $35 to $40 a share. We explain why the board appears to favor Fertitta, why Icahn would be the worst case scenario given his history with Caesars and Fontainebleau, and why this deal is still nine to ten months from closing based on what Fertitta executives told Nevada regulators this week. Elsewhere, Waymo is finally going fully driverless in Las Vegas, joining Zoox and the coming Tesla cybercabs, Hot Dog on a Stick was bought out of bankruptcy by Steve Siegel’s Amazing Brands and is expanding here, Station Casinos is celebrating 50 years with collectible chips and a jacket you can only get with a hand pay, another NBA ownership group led by Jerry Colangelo wants to call the team the Las Vegas Jacks, Park MGM’s summer of locals promotion is underwhelming, Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe had its grand reopening, and Golden Nugget renovated downtown’s only poker room. Plus Shawn reviews PK Oyster Bar and Nacho Daddy. Let us know in the comments what you think about Icahn buying Caesars.
