Office Depot/Officemax Amex Offer

A new semi-targeted Amex Offer dropped today and it is a good one. Let’s take a look at the new Office Depot/Officemax Amex Offer!

The Offer

Get a one-time $20 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $100+ in one or more transactions in-store at Office Depot OfficeMax or online at by 12/31/2016.

Key Terms

  • Valid in-store and online at only.
  • Valid at any participating location in the US and US Territories.
  • Excludes Office Depot and OfficeMax military stores.
  • Excludes donations made to the Office Depot Foundation and Buyer Initiated Payments (BIP) and invoicing.

How to Load

This offer seems to only be available on small business cards and can only be loaded via the Amex website or app. With that said, it seems to be widely available on most cards. The only business card I have that didn’t receive it is a brand new employee card.

Office Depot and Officemax have a ton of gift cards to choose from and they often run deals on merchant cards along with Visas. There is no guarantee, but last year I believe they ran a Visa promotion before Christmas, so let’s hope that happens again. If they run a $15 instant rebate on $300 in Visa cards like in the past and you are able to split tender, the math would look like this:

  • Cost of 2 X $20 cards = $413.90
  • Instant Rebate = $-15
  • Amex Offers = -$80
  • Total Cost = $318.90
  • Total Profit = $81.10

Of course there is no guarantee they will run that promotion, but even without the instant rebate, you can make a profit of $33.05 per $200 card purchased if you split tender between cards. Not bad!

This is a great Amex Offer and one I assure you the competition is loading right now. These offers tend to fill up quickly and disappear, so I would suggest logging in and loading it as soon as possible. Good luck and happy shopping!

  1. Found it on my Delta business only.

I don’t understand how AmEx decides which cards or cardholders to target. I use AmEx offers often. I was really sad when none of our cards had the recent Lowes offers.

  2. 0-20 on SPG business, Delta Bus, Amex Gold, Bus – both main cards and AU

0-2 checking on App, then gave up.

  3. Either I wasn’t targeted or the available offers are already gone, because I was 0/4 on my Amex Business cards.
