Staples Fee Free Visa Promo
Staples sells a variety of Visa & Mastercard gift cards. Depending on the value (up to $200) the fee to purchase these can cost as much as $6.95. This Sunday they are bringing a promotion on Visa gift cards, with a waived fee, once again. Let’s take a look at the details.
The Offer
- No purchase fee when you buy a $200 Visa® Gift Card
Key Terms
- Valid 2/23/20–2/29/20
- The Visa Gift Card is issued by MetaBank
- Limit 1 per customer.
You can find the full terms in the upcoming ad on page 11.
Maximizing This Deal
There’s a limit of 1 per customers. Cards like the Chase Ink Plus, Ink Cash and Amex SimplyCash Plus will all earn 5X/5% back on these purchases. I also assume you may be able to visit multiple stores and/or ask to do multiple transactions despite the terms, but that is obviously YMMV.
Liquidating Visa Gift Card
The Visa gift card is pin-enabled. The PIN number is usually the last four digits of the card number. You can utilize my previous liquidation strategy or simply use it for normal spend.
Conclusion
It’s nice to see Staples bring back this offer, as we have not seen many promotions this year. Also these Staples deals, and similar ones from Office Depot are some of the few 5X sources left. Most people probably prefer Visa gift cards, so this is your opportunity to replenish your Ultimate Rewards accounts again if you did a lot of traveling over the holidays. Most likely stock will run out quickly, so make your way to your favorite Staples locations early and bring your 5X cards.
