Staples Gift Card Deal

This is just a reminder that starting today Staples is offering a $20 rebate with the purchase of $300 or more in Mastercard gift cards. The rebate comes in the form of a $20 Staples gift card, making it not quite as valuable as the recent Visa gift card deal.

Your best option is to go for 2 of the $200 cards which come in a black package. By doing that you will profit $6.10 and earn 2,070 Ultimate Rewards points with your Chase Ink card. You can find more details about the promotion here along with a full breakdown.

Groupon

Groupon is having a huge sale offering 20% off up to 3 local deals, 10% off up to 3 goods deals and 10% off up to 3 getaway deals. To get the discounts you must use the code MEGA3. Several cashback portals are paying 10% back at Groupon. You can find a list here.

Office Depot/Officemax

Office Depot & Officemax are having an in-store clearance event. I don’t know much else about the sale, but in the past I have been able to find some nice deals during these types of sales. Also, you can get an additional 20% off clearance scanners and printers with this coupon.

As a reminder, purchases at Officemax and Office Depot do earn 5x Ultimate Rewards points on the Chase Ink cards. I probably won’t go out of my way for this sale, but since I will be passing by an Office Depot today I may just stop in.

Conclusion

Hopefully one of these sales will save you some money. Definitely a stop in at Staples seems worthwhile. Have a great Sunday!

  1. Think I might have seen note of this elsewhere, but has anyone else noticed Groupon jacking up prices by ~20% on popular (all?) items on dates when they are running these 20% off coupons? Totally lame. Worst one I’ve seen is a local restaurant chain near me that has had $20 or $24 for $30 (depending on weekday or weekend use) Groupons going for a long time. Now, during this “20% off coupon”, their daily spam still says “$20 for $30” … but when you click through you find the prices are $23 or $29 (pre-coupon). Gee wow … $29 for $30!!

  2. Btw this discount applies for the tv (went through the checkout process) was $50 max. So it seems this code is far reaching in it’s validity.

  3. I came across the Groupon code last night when I was looking at hdtv’s. I have to investigate more regarding warranty /returns if defective, but on surface this seems like a great deal/discount.

Have you or anyone you know had to return a large item like a tv (60 inch) to Groupon, and if so, what was your experience?
