Staples No Fee Mastercard Deal
This week Staples is bringing back an offer that waives the fee completely on Mastercard Gift Cards. The $200 denominations usually have a fee of $6.95. We saw the same promotion a couple of weeks ago. Let’s take a look.
- No purchase fee when you buy a $200 Mastercard® Gift Card
- Valid 7/19/20 – 7/25/2020
- The Mastercard® Gift Card is issued by Metabank, pursuant to a license from Mastercard International.
- Limit 5 per customer, per day.
You can find the full terms in the weekly ad.
Maximizing This Deal
Cards like the Chase Ink Plus, Ink Cash and Amex SimplyCash Plus will all earn 5X/5% back on these purchases. I also assume you may be able to visit multiple stores and/or ask to do multiple transactions despite the terms, but that is obviously YMMV. You can also use cards that have the Amex Offer or Chase Offer for Staples purchases.
Spending the Mastercards
These Mastercards are PIN-enabled and should work anywhere Mastercard is accepted. I know people have had issues with these coding as debit cards at Walmart, but they do work at some places and can be run as credit if you are just using them to buy normal products.

We have seen several gift card deals recently, especially from Staples for both Visa and Mastercard gift cards. Most people probably prefer Visa gift cards, but this should also be useful if you have an easy way to drain them. As always, it’s best to use gift cards as quickly as possible to avoid any issues with fraud.
