Staples Visa Gift Card Deal June 2015
Staples has been holding negative cost Visa gift card deals pretty much monthly this year and June isn’t going to disappoint. This time they are bringing back the exact same deal we saw about a month ago.
Purchase $300 or more in Visa gift cards and earn a $20 prepaid Visa via Easy Rebate.
- In store only.
- Offer is good from Sunday 6/21/15 through Saturday 6/27/15.
- Limit of one rebate per household.
How to Maximize
In my opinion, the best way to maximize this deal is to use a Chase Ink card and earn 5X Ultimate Rewards points. For those with an Amex SimplyCash, you can earn 5% back in cash. Either way, the best strategy is to purchase 2 x $200 Visa cards for $206.95 each. With a Chase Ink card the math works out like this:
- Cost: $413.90
- Minus Rebate: $20
- Final Cost: -$6.10
- UR Points Earned: 2,070
The rebate comes in the form of a prepaid Visa gift card. Luckily I found a really simple and cool way of quickly liquidating them.
Staples has started to replace the $200 Metabank cards that come in a yellow package with new purple cards. All reports are that these new purple packaged cards work exactly the same when loading to Bluebird/Serve/REDcard. As always with Metabank issued cards, the last four digits of the card number is the pin.

I am glad that Staples continues to have these deals with regularity. While I still prefer the Office Depot/Officemax instant rebate deals, I am always willing to stock up on these cards along with the Ultimate Rewards points that they bring! If only my closest Staples would reorder $200 cards. I think I will be driving across town on Sunday morning to take advantage.
