Two 5X Earning Deals Start Today – Rack Up Tons Of Points & A Small Profit

There are two of the better points earning deals out there that start up today.  These offer a way to amass a ton of Ultimate Rewards points with the Chase Ink Cash or Ink Plus card.  Or 5% back with the American Express Simply Cash.

Staples Visa Gift Card Deal

The Visa gift card deal at Staples ends today. Here are the offer terms:

Final Thoughts

These are two deals that help you max out your Ink Cash 5X earning.  Ultimate Rewards are some of the most valuable points on the market and these deals help you get them in bunches.  Remember that Mastercard gift cards are more difficult to deal with than Visa cards for most so be cautious of that. Just make sure you have earning cap left before purchasing, don’t be a dummy like me.

Here are some ways to use those cards.

  1. Ahh,,, as Paul Harvey used to say “Now the REST of the story”,, LOL..

I was in one Staples store today and when the first two cards didn’t track as fee free I said hold up. Another clerk said they’d been having the problem all day, (but the MC’s working as fee free). I didn’t buy that because the add clearly says VISA.

I called the manager at my friendliest Staples and he said it was a Blackhawk network problem Staples was working on.

After reading these comments I now believe the MC’s are fee free this week at Staples because the add is a misprint, (and this is logical because the last deal 9/5 – 9/11 was VISA, so this deal SHOULD be MC).

  2. I was in staples and the manager said it’s a corporate wide glitch and no staples store can get activation fee off Visa gift cards even though it says Visa on their ad this week. Yes, MasterCard gift cards do take off the activation fees. Maybe it will get fixed later or not.

    • Heard a few people say that in store it is set up that way even though it says Visa in the ad – strange

  3. I purchased five Visa’s this morning, wasn’t paying attention, and paid $34.75 in fees. The manager tries to cancel the sale, but couldn’t. Aparently, the sale is on the Mastercards. DOC got this wrong, as well. Oh well, I should have looked moreclosely.
