120K Bonus Points With Chase Marriott

120K Bonus Points With Chase Marriott

The Chase Marriott credit card has a new public offer that can earn you up to 120,000 Bonus Points in the first year. Instead of a signup bonus, this offer gives you 10X on all purchases, until you reach the maximum bonus amount. Let’s take a look at the details.

The Offer

  • Earn 120,000 Bonus Points. That’s 10 Points per $1 spent ON ALL PURCHASES within your first year up to $12,000 with the Marriott Rewards® Premier Credit Card
  • PLUS, EARN 7,500 Bonus Points when you add the first authorized user and make a purchase in the first 3 months from account opening

The card has a $85 annual fee that is waived the first year.

Card Details

  • Earn 5 points per $1 spent at participating Marriott Rewards & SPG hotels
  • Earn 2 points per $1 on airline tickets, car rental agencies and restaurants
  • Receive a one-night stay every year at a Category 1-5 after account anniversary
  • $0 foreign transaction fees

As always, “This bonus offer is available to you if you do not have this card and have not received a new cardmember bonus for this card in the past 24 months.”

Elite Status Benefit

With this card you receive 15 credits toward your next Elite membership level after account approval and every year after account anniversary. You also earn 1 Elite credit for every $3,000 spent on purchases.

Should You Apply?

The usual public offer for this card gives you an 80,000 points bonus after you make purchases totaling $3,000 or more during the first 3 months. But recently we have also seen 100K offers. This 120K offer is better than the usual public offer, but it does require lots of spending.

Keep in mind that you can also earn Marriott points with an Amex SPG card. Currently the bonus on that card in only 25,000 Stapoints, down from 35,000. That would convert to 75,000 Marriot points, or 84,000 if you add the points earned for the minimum spending requirement. You would need to spend another $12K to get to 120K Marriott Points, so this new Marriot offer is still better. That’s if you need 120K Marriott points.

Conclusion

We have seen the same targeted offer before, but it is now public. This is a good bonus, but the card also falls under the 5/24 rule. If that’s an issue, but you still want your Marriott points, you should take a look at the business version of the card that’s offering an 80K bonus or the Amex SPG cards.
