Increased 60K Bonus for Chase Sapphire Preferred Card!
Chase has a new public offer for the Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card. This card falls under the 5/24 restriction, but if you’re eligible you can now get a 60,000 signup bonus.
The Offer
- Earn 60,000 Bonus Points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. That’s $750 in Travel Rewards when redeemed through Chase Ultimate Rewards.
- Plus earn 5,000 Bonus Points after you add the first authorized user and make a purchase in the first 3 months from account opening.
Conclusion
This is the best offer we have seen in a while. But the card falls under 5/24 rule so not everyone will be eligible even though the bonus is public. Those who are over 5/24 might have better luck by applying in branch.

was denied a match through SM
That sucks 🙁 – I am guessing because it isn’t really a public offer
Whoa. They are no longer waiving the fee for the first year??
They are waiving it on the normal offer, just not on this offer.
The annual fee is not waived in this offer, so you’re paying $95 got the extra 10K
The link shows only 50k bonus.
In looking at the application, they only list a 25 percent bonus in using points for travel, and 2x points for food and travel. In contrast, I just got this card 2 months ago with a 50k bonus, but a 50 percent bonus for using points for travel and 3x points for food/travel. Is this a mistake on the application, or are you sacrificing those perks for the extra 10k?
Nvm…I got Reserve, not preferred
Yesterday I was 9/24. Today I’m at 8/24. Another 11 months and I’ll be at 4/24 and will be able to get this card (assuming I don’t apply for any more consumer credit cards in the meantime).
Chase 5/24 sucks!
It does – are you sticking with business cards in the meantime?
What are the chances the Chase will match to this current offer? My wife was approved on 1/10/2018 and hasn’t met the spending threshold for the 50,000 bonus points. Any idea of Chase’s policy in the past?
I would send them a secure message – they are usually pretty good about matching offers.
Okay message sent. I’ll report back with what they say
@Danny – when did you downgrade to the Plus? Reddit users note that you should wait about 1 month after you downgrade to apply for another Sapphire product
I downgraded about a year ago so I guess I’m fine?
What if I had the Chase Sapphire Preferred which I applied for over 2 years ago but downgraded the card to freedom plus. Can I apply for a new Sapphire and get 60k? Should I get the reserve instead for the benefits if they’re giving 60k?
