If you have any shopping planned, check out these two promotions from United and Alaska Airlines’ shopping portals that can earn you extra miles. You can earn up to 1,040 miles with United Airlines MileagePlus Shopping when you spend $300 or more, and up to 1,000 miles with Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan Shopping when you spend $300 or more. That’s all in addition to the rates that you already earn from these shopping portals. Let’s check the details.
United Airlines MileagePlus Shopping
During the “40th Anniversary Bonus” offer, which runs from 5/3/21 through 5/17/21 at 11:59:59 pm ET, members will earn a one-time bonus of up to 1,040 MileagePlus® bonus award miles on qualifying purchases made through the MileagePlus Shopping mall or from purchases made through MileagePlus Shopping in-store offers.
This one-time bonus award will be based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period using one of the following tiers:
- Tier 1 bonus: 140 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $40;
- Tier 2 bonus: 540 miles for qualifying purchases of $100 or more; or
- Tier 3 bonus: 1,040 miles for qualifying purchases of $300 or more.
Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan Shopping
During the “Bonus Bash” offer, which runs from 5/3/2021 through 5/12/2021 at 11:59:59 pm ET, members will receive a one-time bonus of up to 1,000 Mileage Plan bonus miles on qualifying purchases made through the Mileage Plan Shopping mall or from purchases made through Mileage Plan Shopping in-store offers.
This one-time bonus award will be determined using one of the following tiers, based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period:
- Tier 1 bonus: 500 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $50; or
- Tier 2 bonus: 1,000 miles for qualifying purchases of $300 or more.
Conclusion
With these promotions you can earn up to an extra 3.4X miles for your purchases. That should probably give you the best earning rate possible, if you spend close to the required threshold.
