Alaska Airlines Credit Card Gets New Benefits
Bank of America is adding two new benefits to its Alaska Airlines credit card. The improvements are not major, but it’s always nice to see something extra on a card, especially when there’s no negative changes or annual fee increases.
Here’s the text of the email:
Bank of America and Alaska Airlines are announcing new and exciting benefits available with the Alaska Airlines Visa credit card. Starting June 1, when using their Alaska Airlines Visa card, existing and new cardholders will receive:
20% back on Alaska Airlines in-flight purchases (including food, beverage, and Wi-Fi)
50% Lounge day-pass discount
These new benefits come in addition to Alaska’s Famous Companion Fare offer, 3X miles on eligible Alaska Airlines purchases and a free checked bag for you and up to 6 guests on the same reservation, when you use your card.
Conclusion
Not huge improvements, but could come in handy sometimes for those who have the card, or plan to apply in the future. Currently there’s a signup offer for 40K miles bonus and $100 credit.

So for those of us who have multiple credit cards that offer inclusive Priority Pass memberships (Chase & AMEX here), and that Alaska once accepted for their lounge access, we now get 50% off lounge access? And, 20% off a $10 protein platter? Hmmm, sounds like a great deal Alaska. Sorry, give me back Priority Pass access and you can keep the Protein Platter.
