Alaska Status Match Now Also Gets You oneworld Alliance Priority Status
Alaska Airlines has an ongoing status match and challenge offer. It is now more valuable since Alaska Airlines is part of Oneworld. That means that besides Alaska Mileage Plan MVP, MVP Gold, or MVP Gold 75K, you can also get Oneworld Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald status. Let’s see how this offer works.
The Offer
Verify your earned frequent flyer status, and gain the equivalent Alaska Mileage Plan status for 90 days. Get elite travel benefits like complimentary seat upgrades and free checked bags. Plus, enjoy oneworld Alliance Priority status equivalent to your new Mileage Plan status on all member airlines.

To keep your new status, keep earning miles by flying on Alaska during the initial 90 day period corresponding to each level below. Only flights owned and operated by Alaska Airlines count towards your new status.
- MVP status — fly 5,000 miles on Alaska
- MVP Gold status — fly 10,000 miles on Alaska
- MVP Gold 75K status — fly 20,000 miles on Alaska
Once you have earned the miles needed to maintain your status, it will extend beyond the first 90 days like this:
- Start your status match by the end of June and meet the requirements to keep your status through the end of the calendar year.
- Or, start your status match between July – December and meet the requirements to keep your status through the end of next year.
How it Works
Go here to get started. Upload a screen shot of your elite status with the other airline. Complimentary or status earned through a promotion do not qualify, and you may only apply once.
To submit your current frequent flyer status, sign in to your account online or through the app for that airline. Take a screenshot of your account and upload it below. Be sure your screenshot includes the following information:
- Your first and last name
- Your current status
- Your miles flown year-to-date or miles flown the prior year to earn elite status
You also need to provide your Alaska Mileage Plan number and your email.
Conclusion
This Alaska Mileage Plan status match offer is always available. However, it gets better now that you also get oneworld Alliance Priority status.
Keep in mind that if you status match by the end of June, you can meet the requirements to keep your status through the end of the calendar year. But if you start your status match between July and December and meet the requirements, you keep your status through the end of next year.
