Alaska Will Launch New Flights to New York City and San Diego
Alaska Airlines will launch two new season routes in the summer of 2024 connecting Anchorage to both New York City and San Diego. Nonstop daily flights to New York JFK will begin June 13, 2024, and weekly flights to San Diego start May 18, 2024. Flights are already available for purchase on Alaska’s website.
“Alaskans love nonstop flights to and from the state. We like having great travel options and adding places such as New York and San Diego definitely fit the bill,” said Alaska Airlines’ regional vice president in the announcement. “During our peak summer days, we’ll have a robust flight schedule of 63 departures a day from Anchorage.”
The 3,386 miles route between Anchorage and New York JFK will become the longest flight for Alaska Airlines.
With the addition of these two new routes, Anchorage will have a total of 14 nonstop destinations in the summer to the Lower 48 and Hawaii. That includes Chicago, Denver, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, New York JFK, Phoenix, Portland, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Seattle/Everett (Paine Field).
