Targeted Amex Business Platinum Spending Offer: Earn an Extra 5X!

American Express has targeted some Business Platinum cardholders with very good spending offers for using their card. Let’s take a look.

The Offers

  • Earn 25,000 Membership Rewards® points after you spend $5,000 on qualifying purchases with your Business Platinum Card. Plus, earn an extra 10,000 points after you spend an additional $5,000 all on qualifying purchases, on your enrolled Card between enrollment date through 12/15/18.

Key Terms

  • Must register and complete spend by December 15th, 2018
  • Qualifying purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, balance transfers, cash advances, purchases of travelers checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, or purchases of other cash equivalents.

Are You Targeted?

This is a sweet offer that gives you an extra 5X on your spending, if you can spend $5,000 in total. For the second part of the offer you only get an extra 2X, which is still good. The offer is targeted and was sent by email. Sometimes they also show up in your account online. There’s also a similar offer for the Business Gold Rewards card.

  1. I got this same offer on my Business Platinum. One thing I was not clear on after reading the fine print is whether the 25k points are in addition to the 5k points you would normally get for spending $5k, or whether you really get 20k bonus points + 5k normal points. Same goes for the next 10k MR for next $5k spend.
