How the Offer Works
This offer doesn’t seem to be like previous ones where it comes in the form of a digital coupon that needs to be loaded to your account. It should work as long as you purchase at least $100 in Amex gift cards. Most likely your Club Card is required.
Analysis
This offer doesn’t give you an instant discount, so works best for those who regularly shop at Safeway and their other brands. The $10 discount towards a future purchase doesn’t have a minimum spend requirement so you should be able to purchase $10 worth of free stuff.
Amex cards are not the easiest to deal with, so you should probably go for the smaller denominations.
Don’t forget to use a credit card that gives you the most points at groceries stores such as Blue Cash Preferred, Old Blue Cash or Chase Freedom that has grocery stores as a bonus category this quarter.
Conclusion
These coupons are usually limited to one-time use only, but either way it is a great deal and a great way to get some free groceries. It’s definitely worth a visit if you have a location nearby.
