American Express and Marriott Bonvoy are introducing new travel offers for existing Marriott Bonvoy and Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card Members. After enrolling, they can earn 6x Marriott Bonvoy points on select purchases. Let’s see how the offer works.
The Offer
This summer’s travel can earn you up to 40,000 points when you enroll your Card by 9/15/2021. Earn 6x points (up to 4 additional points) for each dollar of eligible purchases on:
- Car rentals purchased directly from select car rental companies
- Flights booked directly with airlines
- Gas at U.S. gas stations
- Transit, including purchases on taxis/rideshare, parking, tolls, and trains
You can earn up to 10,000 points in each category for a total of up to 40,000 points through 9/30/2021.

Conclusion
Earning 6X Marriott Bonvoy points on these categories is probably not your best option. Marriott Bonvoy points are not the most valuable and you are able to do better with other credit cards. But if your options are limited and you have an Amex Marriott card in your wallet, this could be useful.
