When travel is your job the two kind of blend together. I can say in my previous industry I found it hard to leave it behind. After a few years I bought a secondary phone for travel. The throw away Stringer Bell type (shout out to The Wire). This was I could turn off my main phone which was also my work phone. That means I wouldn’t see phone calls coming in or check my email. It made life so much better, I encourage anyone struggling with this to give it a try.

The bane of working in consulting is people wanting and needing to get a hold of you constantly. One of our systems went haywire during my last trip. Working for nearly two hours from McDonalds was not what I wanted to spend any of the few days.
I hope you are billing them when you work on vacay so you are not burning time at least 🙂
