I always charge shipping on anything weighing more than 2 pounds. Since I live on the east coast, there is a huge difference in the cost of shipping to California versus somewhere else on the east coast. I do calculated shipping, so the buyer pays the actual shipping cost.
I use flat rate for most of my sales but I need to start adding in some of the cost.
