Pretty interesting story on how the hotel has been moved around.  I love the novelty of things like this. This hotel was trying to be the Maldives before the Maldives were popular :).

  1. We were only in Madeira (main island) for 1 day as part of a cruise from Barcelona, also visiting 3 of the Canary Islands, ending in Lisbon. Madeira is a beautiful place. Our guide took 6 of us around in a van, visiting some wonderful places – stunning scenery, lots of tunnels, winding roads, incredible coastline, lush vegetation. We didn’t even have time to see Funchal. I would love to return, and visit more of the Canaries, as well. And possibly get to the Azores, too. Aah, the list is long…..
