I have to say I agree with pretty much everything Ben wrote up in this. It has been interesting to see major media make a big push into the space in a major way. They pay a single writer more in a year than many independent blogs have for yearly revenue. That is why many of the one person, hobby blogs vanished during the pandemic. When revenue went to pretty much $0 everywhere it was hard to justify the time investment. The landscape has changed quite a bit in just the 5 years I have been involved in it.
