Bank of America has announced a great one-day promotion for early November. All cardholders will earn an additional 2% or an extra 2X in rewards for all purchases for 24 hours only. This could be a good opportunity to earn a great rate on big spending. Let’s see the details.

  • Cash Back Credit Cards: Earn an additional 2% cash back on purchases made on 11/5/22. That’s on top of the rewards you’re already earning.
  • Points Rewards Credit Cards: Earn an additional 2 points for every $1 spent on purchases on 11/5/22. That’s on top of the rewards you’re already earning.
  • Miles Rewards Credit Cards: Earn an additional 2 Miles for every $1 spent on purchases on 11/5/22. That’s on top of the rewards you’re already earning.

This is a great promotion if you need to make any large purchases. Just wait until November 5th to make those purchases. And you even have time to apply for any Bank of America credit cards that you might have your eyes on.

You can pay for major home improvements, pay your taxes, purchase gift cards especially if there are any promotions going on, prepay any bills that you can, and more.

This can be an even better promotion for those enrolled in Preferred Rewards who get an extra 75% bonus on regular rewards earned. The Preferred Rewards bonus does not apply to the incremental bonus earn for this promotion.

  1. Hard to manage some big charges on a Saturday. They often go to Pending and don’t show up for several days. I thought this was a great deal, but not sure I’ll get any bonuses out of it.

  2. Cardless, X1, and other such card issuers exploded on the scene with incredible cash-back rates. People altered their strategy and chased those cards. Later, card issuers determined those rates to be unsustainable and then lowered them. Only to leave people returning to their prior cash-back strategy.

    With regard to this story, the big question is whether this is a one-and-done offer or BofA follows Bilt’s once-a-month example. Without a repeat performance, such a deal is more of an advertising gimmick for BoA and doesn’t really move the needle for anyone.
