Conclusion
Last year they offered the same rebate but it also included Visa gift cards. But even this year, the offer is very good, especially if you often shop at Bed Bath & Beyond, since you can get face value from the rebate. Even if you don’t have to make any purchases at Bed Bath & Beyond, you should be able to sell the $25 gift card for at least $21, which gives you a great discount on Mastercard Gift Cards.

If you sell the gift card for $21, you are making 21 -6.95 = 14.05, which is around 7%. However, 1) These are for mastercards which are very prone to being hacked 2) There is work involved in doing the rebate and then waiting 4 – 8 weeks to get it and 3) Then there is work involved in reselling it and the risk that you will get a buyer who claims there was no balance and cheats you out of your money.
Personally, it is much easier to take the 5x ultimate rewards points when Staples has these on sale which involves way less work.
Just a note for those who still want to do this deal. if you are buying 2 gift cards, make sure to buy them on 2 separate transactions. Last year, people had the systemonly approve 1 rebate if they bought 2 on the same receipt and then you have even more work having to call thye rebate center.
