Bilt Mastercard Devalues Rent Day’s Double Points Benefit

Bilt revealed its latest Rent Day benefits a couple of days ago. The featured benefits for this month are two travel experiences with Virgin Voyages and BLADE.

But there was also a major negative change about one of the popular perks of Rent Day, which was inserted in the terms and conditions of the offer, without much fanfare.

As you know, the Bilt Mastercard earns double points on all purchases on Rent Day. That means that on the first of the month you earn 6 rewards points (3 bonus points) for every $1 spent on net dining purchases, 4 rewards points (2 bonus points) for every $1 spent on net travel purchases, and 2 rewards points (1 bonus point) for every $1 spent on other purchases.

But the maximum amount of bonus points you can earn under this promotion will be lowered drastically. Effective 10/1/2024, the maximum amount of bonus points you can earn under this promotion will be 1,000 per month regardless of how much you purchase (see new terms here). That’s down from 10,000 points which is the current cap.

That’s a a massive negative change for those who were going hard with spending on Rent Day. And that’s in addition to another popular perk that was cut for the August Rent Day, the free 250 points that you could earn with the monthly quiz.
