Bilt Will Increase Elite Status Requirements Next Year

Bilt announced today that it will make major changes to its Bilt Rewards elite status program starting January 1, 2024.

Bilt Rewards first launched in 2021 giving members the opportunity to earn points for rent payments, especially with the Bilt Mastercard. It has evolved since then with the addition of Rent Day, Bilt Dining, and other earning opportunities.

Starting next year, Bilt will increase requirements to earn elite status. While the current status tiers don’t yield many benefits beyond some lucrative Rent Day offers (which will continue in the new program), Bilt says “that will not be the case for 2024’s status program.”

New Ways to Earn Status

In addition to the usual path to status via the annual amount of points you earn, you can now also fast-track your way to status through:

  • Bilt Mastercard spend
  • spend on SoulCycle classes booked in the Bilt app and at Bilt Dining restaurants with any card linked in your Bilt Wallet
  • spend on Lyft rideshare when Bilt is set as your rewards partner in the Lyft app
  • spend in the Bilt Travel Portal

New Elite Status Requirements

In order to reach status, the following points OR spend is required to be earned from January 1 – December 31, 2024, plus what’s current requirement for comparison:

  • Blue
    • No points or spend required.
  • Silver
    • Starting 2024: Earn 50,000 points or spend $10,000
    • Currently: Earn 25,000 points
  • Gold
    • Starting 2024: Earn 125,000 points or spend $25,000
    • Currently: 50,000 points
  • Platinum
    • Starting 2024: Earn 200,000 points or spend $50,000
    • Currently: Earn 100,000 points

As you can see, the points requirements are going up by 100% to 150%. For most members, earning status from non-rent spend on the Bilt Mastercard will actually get them to status quicker than by earning points.

Conclusion

The only positive thing here is that Bilt will offer more benefits and Milestone Rewards every 25,000 points. We’re not sure what those benefits look like, but we’ll likely find out starting next year.

As for elite status requirements, it now gets much harder. Just rent alone will probably no longer be able to get you any status. Spending on your Bilt Mastercard seems like the best option going forward. But $25,000 spending for Gold, or 100,000 for Platinum seems extreme, unless those promised benefits are really enticing.

  1. Bild now posted info on their app that status will carry through 2024. Don’t forget to link all of your cards to Bilt Dining. Onward and upward. Avaan Excess is Domestic and International Luggage Delivery Service in India.

      • It’s no different than other tier status schemes. Remainder of the current calendar year plus all of the following calendar year.

Congratulations on Silver. Don’t forget to link all of your cards to Bilt Dining. Onward and upward.
