Capital One Adds New Family Rule for Venture Credit Cards
Capital One has changed the terms on three Venture credit cards, introducing a card family restriction. This is similar to what you find on many American Express credit cards.
The new terms apply to Venture X, Venture and VentureOne credit cards:
- Venture X card: You are not eligible for this product if you have received a new cardmember bonus for the Capital One Venture card or the Capital One Venture X card in the past 48 months.
- Venture card: You are not eligible for this product if you have received a new cardmember bonus for the Capital One Venture card or the Capital One Venture X card in the past 48 months.
- VentureOne card: You are not eligible for this product if you have received a new cardmember bonus for the Capital One VentureOne card, the Capital One Venture card, or the Capital One Venture X card in the past 48 months.
As you can see, you are no longer eligible to get the Venture X card if you have received a bonus for the Venture or Venture X in the last 48 months, and vice-versa. You will not be eligible to get the VentureOne card if you have received a bonus in the last 48 months on any of the three Ventrure cards.
The new language was introduced in recent days, and it has not been updated everywhere. So you might see some conflicting terms depending on which Capital One page you’re looking at.
