Capital One Spark Cards 200K Offer Details

The standard offer is for 50,000 miles after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months.  This offer amounts to 6x points (or even more value if you transfer miles) on your $50,000 in spend and the $95 annual fee is waived the first 12 months. Now the card also earns 5x miles on hotel and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel.

Here are the details for the Capital One Spark Cash for Business welcome offer:

  • Earn a $500 cash bonus when you spend $5,000 in the first 3 months of opening your account.
  • Earn $1,500 when you spend $50,000 in the first 6 months.
  • $95 annual fee is waived first year

Plus you get the following benefits:

  • Earn unlimited 2% cash back on every purchase for your business
  • No foreign transaction fees.

The standard offer is for $500 after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months. This offer amounts to 6% cashback on your $50,000 in spend and the $95 annual fee is waived the first 12 months.

New Transfer Partners

Capital One also recently added 15 transfer partners for their mile earning cards.  The rate of transfer is 2 to 1.5. After spending $50,000 you would have 300,000 miles worth $3,000 towards travel.  Those “miles” could be turned into 225,000 airline miles.  If you valued the airline miles at 1.5 cents a piece that is a value of $3,375 when transferred.

Application Rules

Be aware that Capital One pulls all three credit bureaus when you apply.  You are not able to get a Capital One card if you have applied for another one within the past 6 months.

Conclusion

This offer is about as good as it gets for big spenders.  If you are able to reach the high spending threshold you will be earning at least 6% back on your next $50,000 in business spend.  That is $3,000 you can plug back into your business for simply spending money you were going to spend anyway.

If you value the new airline partners at all then the Miles card may be the way to go. You are able to squeeze a little more value out of the points if you get at least 1.5 cents per airline mile. Plus that card has some extra 5x earning options.
