Chase AARP Card, $200 Bonus Plus 3% on Gas and Restaurants

The Chase AARP credit card has an increased signup bonus of $200. The usual bonus is either $100 or $150 and we occasionally see this best ever $200 bonus.

Remember to be cautious when applying for new Chase accounts since they have been shutting people down after new applications.  They have even done it after periodic reviews without new applications.

The Offer

You will receive 20,000 bonus points with this bonus offer, which can be redeemed for $200 cash back. To qualify and receive your bonus, you must make Purchases totaling $500 or more during the first 3 months from account opening.

Direct link to application page.

Card Benefits

  • Earn unlimited 3% cash back rewards on restaurant purchases
  • Earn unlimited 3% cash back rewards on gas station purchases
  • Earn unlimited 1% cash back rewards on all other purchases
  • 0% Intro APR for 12 months on purchases and balance transfers
  • No Annual Fee

Eligibility

This product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of this credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of this credit card who received a new cardmember bonus for this credit card within the last 24 months.

The card doesn’t fall under the Chase 5/24 rule.

Conclusion

$200 is a not a great credit card bonus, but could be useful if you are running out of options. The card is also great for those who have lots of gas or restaurant expenses, since it earns 3% back on those categories. Sometimes you also get decent targeted offers like this one.
