Chase, $20 Bonus for Adding Authorized User

Chase has sent out emails in the last few days to some cardholders with an offer to earn a $10 or $20 bonus for adding an authorized user. Let’s look at the details.

The Offer

Earn $20 cash back for adding an authorized user to your account. Authorized user must make a purchase by May 31st, 2019.

Offer Terms

  • You will receive 2,000 bonus points with this bonus offer, which can be redeemed for $20 cash back.
  • To qualify for and receive your bonus, add an authorized user to your account who then makes a purchase by May 31, 2019.
  • After qualifying, please allow 6 to 8 weeks for bonus points to post to your account.
  • To be eligible for this bonus offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment.

Conclusion

Keep in mind that authorized user cards count towards Chase 5/24. So this is definitely not worth it if the authorized user could be looking to apply for Chase cards. Otherwise you can get $20 with minimal effort.

Chase usually offers a $50 bonus for adding an authorized user when signing up for a new card that comes with a bonus.
