Chase Business Card Referrals Changing in October
Chase updated referral links for business credit cards today and there are a couple of important changes that are worth mentioning.
The first is a good one. The Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business is now available through referral links, as part of the Ink family. So even if you don’t have the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business card, you can refer other to get it as long as you have one of the Ink business cards.
You will earn 20,000 points for every referral, up to a maximum of 100,000 points for the year.
But the update comes with a major negative change that will heavily limit referrals for some people. Referral terms on Ultimate Rewards earning business cards now state the following:
Effective October 7th, 2025, you will be eligible to receive referral bonus awards for new Chase Business card customers only. Referrals of individuals with existing Chase business card accounts will no longer qualify for the referral bonus.
That means that in order to earn a referral bonus, the person you are referring must be a new Chase Business card customer. They can NOT have an existing Chase business card account.
With many readers having one or more Ink Business credit card, this limits the ability to use referrals from friends or family members.
The only good thing about this change, is that you have until October 7th to still refer existing Chase Business card customers and earn 20,000 points for every referral.
