Chase Freedom 2018 Calendar

Chase Freedom 2018 Calendar

One of the better no annual fee cards in my opinion is the Chase Freedom. I highly value Ultimate Rewards points and the Freedom comes with no annual fee and allows me to earn 5X points in rotating categories each quarter on up to $1,500 in spend. For example, in this quarter (April – June) I am earning 5X points on groceries and payment made through Chase Pay and PayPal. Hopefully most of you have already maximized the spending for this quarter, or are well on your way to complete it.

Now, there’s information on which categories will earn 5X in the third quarter of 2018. The categories are not yet posted, but there’s a few confirmations on what will be included.

July– September, 2018: Gas Stations, Lyft, Walgreens

  • Gas Stations does not include merchants that do not specialize in selling automotive gasoline; for example, truck stops, boat marinas, oil and propane distributors, and home heating companies.

  • Lyft payments.

  • Walgreens purchases.

You can activate the Chase Freedom Q3 bonus starting from June 15th. You can visit this link.

Conclusion

A good offer this upcoming quarter but not as good as the current quarter. Walgreen’s sells gift cards, so that could be an option. Gas savings are also useful for those who don’t have fuel points. And 5% at Lyft should come in handy as well.

  1. Until a few years ago, I was a bargain hunter at Wags. Last week Walgreens $5 off $20 coupon can only be used on non-sale items. Order off the web site and you quickly find out there are limits that only show up in your basket. Most stores have locked restrooms and you must hunt down a manager for that person to punch in the lock code. Finally, forget to buy something at Wags and after a period of time you loss your reward points.

      • Did a test purchase of an Amazon gift card back in March (last time gas stations were a rotating category) via a 7/11 (with pumps out front) in Hoo’ville, va Rang up 5x points for the transaction.
