Analysis
Both cards fall under Chase’s 5/24 rule. So that makes it difficult for many people to qualify for this offer.
This is a pretty good offer for the Freedom card but some may be better off taking the other Chase Freedom Unlimited offer. With that offer you get 3% cash back (3 points) per dollar on your first $20,000 in spend during the first year. If you were planning on putting a lot of spend on the card then you would be sitting on 60,000 points at the end of the year (Learn More). If you took the $200 offer you would be sitting on 50,000 points at the end of the year for the same spend. If you do not plan on putting that much spend on your card then the $200 welcome offer is best for you.
The current offers should be worth more than $200 for most people. You just need to have a Sapphire Preferred or Ink card so you can transfer cash back to UR points.
Conclusion
This is a decent welcome offer for no fee cards. But the problem with the offer is that most readers will be way over 5/24. And for those under 5/24, there’s probably better offers and better cards out there.
Do you thinks it’s worth it?
