Chase Ink Preferred Card 160K Bonus

Chase Ink Preferred Card 160K Bonus

In celebration of Small Business Month, Chase is offering the best ever offer for the Chase Ink Preferred Card. The offer is available in branch only. If you have a location nearby, you can earn a bonus of 160,000 Ultimate Rewards points. Let’s see how this Chase Ink Preferred bonus works.

The Offer

  • Earn 100,000 BONUS POINTS after you spend $15,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.
  • Plus an additional 60,000 BONUS POINTS after you spend $50,000 on purchases in the first 6 months from account opening.

$95 annual fee not waived. Offer valid in May 2021 only.

Chase Ink Preferred Card 160K Bonus Analysis

The public offer for the Ink Preferred is 100,000 Ultimate Rewards points, the same as the first part of this bonus. But with this in-branch offer you have the opportunity to earn another 60,000 points if you can manage to spend $50K within six months. That works out to an additional 1.7X points on all your extra spend of $35K that is required for the full bonus.

This is obviously a great bonus for those who can generate that kind of spend, especially if some of it is in categories that earn 3X.

Chase 5/24

Sadly this card falls under the 5/24 rule so it will be out of reach for many people. Even if you received the offer, you still can not get around this rule. Only pre-approved offers, not targeted offers, work to get you past it.

Conclusion

This is obviously a great offer and the highest ever on this card. We have seen a differently structured 160K bonus in the past, but it was through targeted mailers. The spending requirement for the full welcome bonus is $50,000, which is not something that everyone can easily do. So keep that in mind when applying.

  1. I am going for this one. Too big to pass up for one of my companies. All earn all the spend at 3X as well for shipping and advertising. Although I am a fairly good miles and points guy, in recent years I really have not applied for many cards at all. Very strategic. So well under 5/24. I think I am 1 or 2 in the last 24. And this being a business card it wont add to that total either. With Covid in the last year I was not motivated to chase any cards. Over the years I have pretty much had the majority of mainstream cards. I still hold them. In fact I wont go for a personal card unless it is very special or unique right now.
