Chase Losing Popular Ultimate Rewards Transfer Partner

Chase Ultimate Rewards points are probably the most valuable points currency out there. Check out our Chase Ultimate Rewards Points Guide: Earning, Redeeming and Sapphire, Freedom and Ink Brands. The main reason for their value is that they have many travel partners and good transfer rates to most of them. But one of those partners will no longer be there after August 25th.

If you have a Ultimate Rewards earning credit card, you should have received an email this morning informing you that beginning August 25, 2018, Korean Air SKYPASS will no longer be a participating point transfer travel partner. If you’re planning to transfer Ultimate Rewards points to Korean Air SKYPASS, your order must be placed by August 24, 2018.

This is a blow to those who love traveling to Asia. Korean Air SkyPass was a great way of redeeming Ultimate Rewards points for First and Business class to Japan, China, South Korea and other Asian countries. With Korean Air SkyPass you would need just 80,000 miles one-way for first class to those countries and 95,000 to Southeast Asia.

Korean Air is also part of the SkyTeam alliance so you could use their miles on partners such as partner carriers including Delta, Air France, China Airlines and more.

Conclusion

Korean Air is a big loss for many people, but Chase Ultimate Rewards still has plenty of partners left. If you are planning a trip on Korean Air then you still have time till August 24th to sort everything out and transfer your Ultimate Rewards points.
