Chase Ultimate Rewards has a New Transfer Partner

There’s a new travel partner for the Ultimate Rewards program. Chase cardmembers who have cards like the Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Preferred, Ink Business Preferred and others can now transfer their Ultimate Rewards points to the Skywards program.

Ultimate Rewards points can be transferred at a ratio of 1:1 to Emirates Skywards, the loyalty program of Emirates and flydubai, in increments of 1,000.

Emirates Skywards

Emirates Skywards offers four tiers of membership – Blue, Silver, Gold and Platinum – with each membership tier providing exclusive privileges. Members earn Skywards Miles when they fly on Emirates, flydubai or partner airlines, or when they use their program’s designated hotels, car rentals, financial, leisure and lifestyle partners. Skywards Miles can be redeemed for an extensive range of rewards, including tickets on Emirates or flydubai, plus Emirates Skywards partner airlines, hotel accommodation, excursions and exclusive shopping. Visit Emirates Skywards online at: www.emirates.com/skywards  or https://skywards.flydubai.com/en/login.

Ultimate Rewards

The new addition is the 13th travel partner for the Ultimate Rewards program. There is now 10 airlines and three hotels. Here’s the full list:

  • Aer Lingus AerClub
  • British Airways Executive Club
  • Air France/KLM Flying Blue
  • Emirates Skywards
  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
  • Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards
  • United MileagePlus
  • Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
  • Iberia Plus
  • World of Hyatt
  • Marriott Rewards
  • IHG Rewards Club
  • The Ritz-Carlton Rewards

Conclusion

It’s always a good thing when we see new partners being added as it makes Ultimate Rewards points more versatile. But Emirates Skywards is probably not the go to program for most people. Their redemption rates are pretty expensive  and also come with high surcharges. Emirates is not part of the three major alliances either, which limits redemptions on partner airlines.
