Choice Hotels Reveals Positive Changes

Choice Privileges, the rewards program of Choice Hotels announced today that it will introduce new features aimed at giving members more value and opportunities to use their points.

Starting in early 2025, Choice will triple its reward night booking window to 50 weeks, give members the option to redeem points for the premium features, and introduce Choice RewardSaver for better value on rewards night bookings.

Expanded Booking Window

Choice Privileges members will soon be able to book a reward night up to 50 weeks in advance, giving them more time to plan their trip.

The short booking window has long been one of the main issues that members have with the program. Currently, Choice Privileges members can only book reward nights within 100 days before the date of their stay.

Redeem Points for Premium Rooms

Starting next year, members will be able to redeem points for the premium features that matter most to them, such as extra space, a better view or an upgraded room, at select hotels.

This could be good and bad. Yes you will have the option to use points to upgrade, but at the same time it could mean that starting in 2025, you will no longer be able to book premium rooms for the same number of points as standard rooms.

Choice RewardSaver

Choice says that it will re-introduce the popular Radisson Hotels Americas redemption tool that allows members to book rewards nights starting at 6000 points. That’s from the previous minimum of 8,000.

That’s a positive change for now but hopefully it’s not balanced out with higher redemptions limits at the other end of the spectrum.

  1. This is a shadow devaluation. Premium rooms translates we’re going to charge more for 2 bedrooms rather than same price for any room size.

  2. I like the Choice program. I think I’ll like it a lot more in 2025. The 50 week window for redemptions is a positive game changer for me.
