Citi Dividend Announces 5% Categories for 1st Quarter
Citi has released the calendar for Q1 of 2022 for the 5% Cash Back categories. These are quarterly rotating categories for Citi Dividend cardholders. The Dividend card isn’t available to the public anymore, but many people still hold on to it. Let’s see the details.
Q1 2023 Calendar
- Amazon: Includes all purchases made at Amazon.com.
- Select Streaming Services: Includes the following cable, satellite, and streaming providers: Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Disney+, DirecTV Stream, ESPN+, fuboTV, HBO Max, NBA League Pass, Netflix, Pandora, Paramount+, Showtime, Sling TV, Spotify, Starz, SiriusXM, Vudu, YouTube Red, YouTube TV, and Tidal.
Citi Dividend is similar to Discover it and Chase Freedom cards. But it is actually better as you can do all your spending in a quarter, if there’s a category you prefer. You can earn all of your cashback ($300) total any time during the year in whichever category you choose.
You can find the calendar here and register once it becomes available. You might also receive emails for 1-click activation for the new categories.
Conclusion
The 1st quarter categories include Amazon and Streaming Services. Amazon is a popular merchant and should be useful if you don’t have an Amazon card that earns 5%. Streaming services is probably not as exciting, it is a small expense, and it’s a hassle to change payment methods.
But the good thing is that you can wait to do your 2023 spending. We should see better categories throughout the year.
