Conclusion
A great bonus for those who never had a savings product with Capital One. All you need to do is deposit $10,000, but you don’t have to keep the balance there after that. You can transfer out if you’re earning more than 1% anywhere else. There’s no fees on the account, so you can keep it open without a balance.

Do I need to keep it open for at least 6 months or for any particular duration?
I opened one of these accounts recently and 100% agree with everything you posted. This is a nice little savings account but not for parking large sums long-term. The bonus posted quickly for me (less than two weeks) and others report the same. Another potential advantage is that opening this account may be a gateway to good targeted offers for other Capital One products.
