Earn Double Points with New IHG Promotion

IHG has launched a new promotion that will earn you double points on your stays. However, the increased earning only kicks in after the first stay during the promotion period. Let’s see the details.

The Offer

  • Earn double points again and again, starting on your second stay. Then keep earning on unlimited stays from 1 January to 31 March 2025.
  • Must register before your stay.

Key Terms

  • To participate in the ‘2X Unlimited’ Promotion you must have an active, valid IHG One Rewards member account and must register for the Promotion.
  • Members can pre-register for this Promotion from 17 December 2024 until 31 December 2024 (the ‘Pre-Registration Period’).
  • Members will be able to stay and earn IHG One Rewards bonus points under this Promotion beginning on 1 January 2025 and ending on 31 March 2025.
  • After registering for the Promotion, a member can earn 2X points beginning on their second qualifying stay and each qualifying stay thereafter, during the Promotion Period.
  • For the purposes of this Promotion, a ‘Qualifying Stay’ is defined as a minimum one (1) night stay at a participating hotel booked under a Qualifying Rate, with total spend exceeding USD $30 (or local currency equivalent) for each night.
  • Room nights outside of the Promotion Period are not included, and room nights that are part of a stay which was completed prior to registration for the Promotion are also not included.
  • Stays booked using Rewards Nights or Points & Cash are not Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stays for the purposes of this Promotion.
  • The promotional bonus points under this Promotion are calculated based solely on the base points the member is eligible to earn for a Qualifying Stay just for being an IHG One Rewards member, and any Elite status bonus points or any other bonus or promotional points the member may be eligible to receive for the same stay are not included.

Conclusion

This is not a great promotion, but can still result in extra points if you stay twice or more at IHG properties during the first quarter of 2025. The first stay will not earn double points.

Some IHG One Rewards members can also purchase IHG elite status, which can be worth it if you often find yourself at IHG hotels.
