SPG To Amtrak Transfers To End On July 31st, 2018 – Doctor of Credit
Not a big deal to a lot of us but for those that use Amtrak this is terrible news. The only way to earn Amtrak points once this ends is via their Bank of America credit card or via paid rides.
British Airways cancels 2,000 ‘incorrectly’ cheap tickets – BBC News
It sounds like the tickets were only 20-30 pounds less than other tickets. I am surprised British Airways canceled them because of that. Their partner airline is honoring this crazy deal, they should have taken a note from their playbook. And they are issuing 100 pound vouchers for any canceled flights…that will probably end up costing them more.
Thieves steal $100G of Apple products through Best Buy roof – Fox News
Wow THIS IS CRAZY! Had to be an inside job for them to know the details of the layout etc. But I guess this stuff does happen in real life.
American Airlines Forces Photographer to Check Bag with $13k of Equipment Inside, Loses Bag – Andy’s Travel Blog
If someone tells the agent it is their livelihood and it is the proper size they should make it work. Especially if they bumped the person from an earlier flight they should be bending over backwards to accommodate them. Sad story.
My (boring) Citi shutdown story – The Free-quent Flyer
Everyone should know by now – don’t use Walmart bill pay for any credit card bills. It is an auto shutdown these days.
Delta Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit Hits Major Airline – Top Class Actions
I didn’t remember this one but there have been so many breaches of late there are probably 4 or 5 of me out there by now. It seems like all we can do is sue them and try to hit their bottom line since the government doesn’t seem too interested in properly punishing the corporations that have leaks, even when they cover it up.

You will still earn Amtrak points from their shopping portal. I had to use Amtrak’s portal when Sears disappeared for a few months from the American Airlines portal. Points can take awhile to post to your account. I made a small purchase from Sears on 10/20/17 that was partially paid for with Shop Your Way points, and the Amtrak points didn’t post until 12/22/17.
You will also earn points from their survey program, Survey Points Club. The points from surveys post immediately. The surveys are for varying amounts of points and time. You also earn 5 points for each survey you don’t qualify for, up to 25 points per day.
Good tips – thanks Sara
