Southwest Airlines will stop serving peanuts – USA Today

They are ending their long love affair with peanuts in August to protect customers with peanut allergies.  It is somewhat sad since airlines and peanuts have gone hand in hand for as long as I can remember.  But, most have started getting into other snacks as of late.  Biscoff Cookies and Delta’s snack mix are two examples.  I usually get Cheese Nips or something else when on Southwest anyways…yes I fly Southwest even though I loathe their boarding process some.

Changes to Starwood’s Popular Rewards Card Vex Travelers – Wall Street Journal

Nothing new but it only solidifies what everyone has been thinking.  American Express is going to be taking a big swipe fee hit with this one.  I think some will hold the cards for the free night but they won’t be putting any spend on them anymore.  Sad.

This rabbit whole just keeps getting deeper and deeper with Wells Fargo.  They were even gaming people on the merchants side of things.  Yikes.

Need a hotel award night opened? Email the hotel. – Miles Per Day

A good tip to keep in the back of your mind.  It is always worth a try…worst they can do is say no.
