Follow up: I called AMEX to ask if the $1000+ charge must be in a single or mutiple charges as the terms do not specify. This totally stumped the offers team after being placed on hold for 20+ mins to check with supervisors they came back and said it should be a single charge of $1000+. But they sounded very unsure. As a single charge the offer sucks, if mutiple charges I can maximize with 5 x 1 night stays ensuring 1 x stay exceeds $250 to get $45 credit, and 4 x stays @ $200 to get the $200 AMEX credit , 20,000 bonus points for 5 stays & $75 hotel credit per night x 5 ($375). $1050 5 stay charge would earn $620 credits & 35,000+ points(20k bonus, 5k myway benfit, 10k+charge w/diamond boost)
Maybe ill call back another day to see if they give me another answer. As long as they answer me with mutiple charges that = $1000+ its recorded and I can always claim I was told… To earn the offer.
Ahhh I found it, the $75 Hilton credit “For each completed eligible night’s stay, a folio credit of up to US$75 or currency equivalent will be awarded.” So I assume the FHR $100 credit and the $75 Hilton Credit can not be combined since they are both “folio credits” which are not charged to your CC final bill.
What I am not able to find in the terms is the $200 AMEX offer. Must the $1000+ of Hilton Hawaii charges be on a single charge or can it be multiple charges?
Also does the $250 Aspire credit count against the $1000 charge?
Example if I spend $250 per night (tax included), 4 x individual stays = $1000 (charged) – $250 (Aspire Credit), – $45 (AMEX credit) = $705 of spend after credits, Does this still qualify for the $200 ($1000 spend) AMEX offer? Which would give you $505 of spend & 8000 bonus points after all credits.
I will try to call AMEX tonight see if they can answer the question, unless someone already knows?
Great post! I just stayed at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort last week and totally missed the $75 credit!!! but I did get my room & parking reimbursed ($225) as part of the $250 Aspire credit. I live in Hawaii so I just rebooked the hotel again in a couple of weeks this time through FHR @ $260.
Question, will I receive the $100 FHR credit & the $75 Hilton Credit? Looking at the terms of the $75 credit, “offer may not be combined with other select promotions, offers or discounts.” I think it really depends on how you receive the $75 credit. FHR credits are removed from your bill prior to check out so they do not show up as a charge. Does anyone know if the $75 credit is reimbursed/removed prior to check out? or is the $75 Hilton credit something that is charged then reimbursed to your CC later?
over-rated. they all charge exorbitant resort fees.
I agree most have insane resort charges but the 2 hotels part of the $75 credit offer on Oahu, Hilton villiage & Double tree I found rate of $177 ($225 w/tax) as long as you don’t park for $45 a night you can game the system by bouncing back and fourth 1 night @ village & 1 night at Doubletree
