Question: Why Can't I Book These Particular Hotel Nights on Points?

Hilton Hawaii Timeshare Offer

Hilton Grand Vacations has a new timeshare offer that will get you a cheap stay in Hawaii. This offer has three options for stays in Maui, Honolulu, or Waikoloa. You can get up to five nights and 25,000 Hilton Honors points starting at $699.

As you know, these deals involve a timeshare presentation which you must attend. But if you can spare two hours of your time during your vacation, it can be a good deal. And it can get even better if you just ask. Let’s see how this offer works.

The Offer

Guests must purchase by March 31, 2022 to enjoy:

  • 5-day/4-night stay for $999 plus tax in Maui
  • 6-day/5-night stay for $699 plus tax in Honolulu
  • 6-day/5-night stay for $699 plus tax in Waikoloa

Your stay will be at a participating hotel within the Hilton portfolio of brands (valued at $175-$500/night). Guests will receive 25,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points after attending the Personal Preview.

You have up to 12 months from purchase date to travel. As part of your vacation package, you’ll attend a two-hour Personal Preview and sales presentation. This is mandatory for you and your spouse.

Key Terms

  • YouĀ are not eligible to participate in this promotion if you:
    • have an open, incomplete package requiring attendance at a sales presentation,
    • have attended a Hilton Grand Vacations sales presentation at any property within the last year, and/or
    • are an employee of Hilton Grand Vacations, Hilton Worldwide or their affiliates.
  • If married or living together, couples must attend sales presentation together; individuals may purchase separately.

How You Can Do Better

It looks like you can book everything online but I encourage you to call the phone number instead. You can talk to an agent and they can adjust the offer to either lower the price or give you more bonus miles. The original offer is always there in case you canā€™t get anything better.

Even if you have recently booked one of these with a lesser bonus it is not too late.Ā Ā You can call back even after you booked everythingĀ and have them match this price maybe.

Conclusion

If you are planning an Hawaii vacation over the next year then this can be a cheap stay. You can pay just $699 for a 5-night stay in Waikoloa or Honolulu, or $999 for a 4-night stay in Maui. You also get 25,000 Hilton points which worth more than $100.

You canĀ even earn points on the stay!Ā  This is a great way to make your points last longer and another way to travel more for less.

Be sure to call in and ask for even a better deal. You never know. And if you do get a better deal, please let us know in the comments.

  1. One of the things I wonder about is how to ask for a better deal by phone. “Hey, I saw this deal, but, like… can you offer me more?” I guess I’m not shameless enough. What do people say?

  2. Three times we were in Hilton Hawaiian Village, which is very nice. The last time we requested that, but it was unavailable, so they put us in Hilton Garden Inn – which is less nice but actually a decent location uptown.

  3. Weā€™ve done this numerous times at Marriott, Westin and Hyatt Maui. Note that families can sometimes negotiate for a 1BR or even 2BR unit for a slightly higher fee. Donā€™t expect EQN or points for the package but some hotels will honor elite benefits like lounge access.

My fav sales guy was the one who asked why we werenā€™t buying and I told him that is was cheaper just to visit on these sales packages. He replied ā€œyou will never get another one if you reject this dealā€

Of course we got one the following year and multiple offers every year since.

    • My favourite sales guy was the one who asked if we were really interested in the timeshare or if we just wanted the deal and the points. When I said we just wanted the deal and the points, he gave that to us without the 2 hour presentation.

  4. I’ve done this at least 4 times in Honolulu to the point where I’m tired of it. But it is a good way for a relatively inexpensive stay.

    • Do you get any choice in terms of which property you stay at? I’d love to know if you stay at HGV properties or Hilton hotel properties, since I like condo stays in Hawaii.
