This month we covered the IHG offers for Q1 2019, now called “Free Nights. Faster”. As an IHG Rewards Club member you can earn at least 40,000 bonus points by staying at any of their 5,500+ hotels between January 15 to April 15. Register now, before March 15, to start earning points towards free nights with your next stay.

Offers will once again vary for everyone, but you will be able to earn at least 40,000 bonus points. After you log in and register, you’ll see your specific targeted offer. I’ve noticed that each time Accelerate offers come out, there’s a task dealing with booking bonus points packages. IHG® Rewards Club Bonus Points Packages give you the opportunity to earn 1,000–5,000 points per stay when selecting the specific rate. Another nice feature of these rates is that the bonus points count toward earning and maintaining your Elite status.

How Do You Book These Rates?

I’m not sure if it was just an oversight but I’ve had issues trying to find the bonus rates. I had tried several different ways to search them but eventually came to the conclusion that they weren’t widely available. I was wrong. I accidentally chose the standard rate for a hotel I was booking and there it was, the option to pay an extra couple of bucks to get bonus points. See the pics below for illustration. Note in the first pic, I’ve selected the standard rate which is pretty counter intuitive since the member rate is always cheaper, but there you have it.

Conclusion

It’s probably silly to pay extra in most cases for 1000 points but the difference between the member rate and standard rate tends to be anywhere from $5-15. Though it’s probably worth it if like me, you’ll get an extra 6600 bonus points for spending a few extra bucks.

    • No, thank you! I’ve played around with so many different options and haven’t seen it. I’m so happy that we can save a few bucks and still get the bonus points. Thank you, Brian.
