Hyatt Makes Small Scale Category Changes
World of Hyatt Category Changes have been made and only 9 hotels have been shifted into a different category. All but one of the changes have resulted in higher redemption categories. However, good news if you’re a fan of the Confidante Hotel in Miami Beach; it’s changing from a Category 6 to Category 4- meaning you’ll save 10,000 points per night for a standard room award!
List of Hotel Changes
Moving From Category 1 to Category 2
- Hyatt Place Orlando Airport
- Hyatt Place Lake Mary Orlando North
- Hyatt Place St. Paul
- Hyatt Place Shenzhen Dongmen
Moving From Category 2 to Category 3
Moving From Category 2 to Category 4 (The Largest Change)
Moving From Category 6 to Category 7
Redemption’s Affected
The changes will be in effect for everyone beginning 12/13/2017. However, if you make a reservation at any of the affected properties before then or already have one in place the lower point price will prevail. If you had previously booked the Confidante, you will receive an adjustment.
Conclusion
You are unlikely to be affected by these changes as there are only 9 hotels changing categories. Of course, if you frequently visit one of the areas or hotels, this could be a bummer for you. If however, you are visiting Miami Beach- you’ll have an extra option.
