Iberostar Properties Are Now Bookable with IHG Points

InterContinental Hotels and Iberostar Hotels & Resorts announced a long‑term agreement back in November of last year, which would add up to 70 beachfront resorts and all-inclusive hotels to IHG One Rewards. Since then we have see a gradual integration.

Through the alliance, Iberostar will retain 100% ownership but the properties are added to IHG’s system under the Iberostar Beachfront Resorts brand. Now some of these properties are finally fully integrated and bookable with IHG points. These properties are located in Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico, Montenegro, Morocco and Spain.

Further properties in Spain and other popular resort destinations in Southern Europe and North Africa are anticipated to join IHG’s system over the course of next year.

IHG One Rewards members can now earn and redeem points and enjoy on-property elite perks at participating Iberostar Beachfront Resorts. You can book Reward Nights, Free Nights and Points & Cash stays through IHG.com, the IHG One Rewards app or by calling the IHG Customer Care at 1 877 424 2449.  You can also use your fourth-night-free reward at Iberostar properties. Confirmable Suite Upgrades and Food & Beverage Rewards will be available in the future.

While there are no blackout dates, Reward Nights and Free Nights are subject to hotel availability.

From a quick look at some of the properties, it doesn’t seem like you will receive any outsized value when redeeming IHG points for Iberostar stays. You can possibly get just over 0.4 cents per point, which is just about what IHG points are worth.
